You will be asked for your Delta SkyMiles Number. If you don’t have one already, we suggest that you create one now here, and then add it to the credit card application.
When you reach the Income section, remember that you can include any income source for which you have a reasonable expectation of access. This includes personal income, contributions from family or a partner, gifts, scholarships, and retirement distributions.
Submit your application.
If you are approved, congratulations! Your new card typically arrives in 7 to 10 business days.
Need it sooner? There's a way. Call American Express customer service at 800-297-85007 and inform them of your card approval. They will ask for the last 4 digits of the credit card, which you can find in the approval email you should have received. You can then request free expedited shipping, and your card will arrive in just 1 to 2 business days.

After you submit your application, you may see a message like: We have received your application, and we will inform you of our decision as soon as possible. In this case your application may be denied, but don't lose hope:

Call the American Express reconsideration line at 800-567-1083
Follow the automated menu to connect with a customer agent.
Once you speak with an agent, explain that you applied for this credit card and ask if they need more information.
If they inform you that your application was declined due to a mistake on your application, request that they amend the application.
If you already have other Amex credit cards, you can suggest credit reallocation from those cards. This approach often increases your chances of approval.
